Greenbuild offers a forum for the green building community to unite, change lives, revolutionize business and address pressing issues, such as air quality, human health, energy use and global climate change.

Human x Nature represents how the green building movement embraces all of humanity by making sustainable buildings and environments accessible to everyone, and in doing so, benefits the natural environment all around us. We are helping people understand their role in protecting and preserving the natural environment and leveraging the built environment to: enhance human health and wellbeing, ensure resiliency, mitigate climate change, enhance community and social equity, restore and protect our ecosystems, enhance building efficiency and performance, and promote sustainable design. The future of the human race is interlaced with the future of the planet, and the sustainable practices we celebrate and advance at Greenbuild remind us that our success as sustainability advocates, practitioners and professionals is more than a movement, it is a responsibility.

Greenbuild China offered volunteer opportunities for full-time students and young professionals under the age of 25. In exchange for (5) five hours of volunteer work, volunteers received (1) one complimentary Full Conference Pass to attend the conference. About the venue

Shanghai Tower | 501 Yincheng Middle Rd, LuJiaZui, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, China, 200120

The Shanghai Tower, located in the Lujiazui in the city’s bustling Finance and Trade Zone, is China’s tallest building. Rising 2,073 Feet (632m) and 127 floors into the air, it is the second tallest building in the world. This complex super tall building’s design incorporates numerous green architecture elements. The tower has been referred to as "the greenest super high-rise building on earth." The building is designed to capture rainwater for internal use, and to recycle a portion of its wastewater.
The design of the tower's glass façade, which completes a 120° twist as it rises, is intended to reduce wind loads on the building by 24 percent. This reduced the amount of construction materials needed; the Shanghai Tower used 25 percent less structural steel than a conventional design of a similar height. As a result, the building's constructors saved an estimated US $58 million in material costs. Construction practices were also optimized for sustainability.
