USGBC carefully curated a vast array of education to help attendees achieve educational and career goals while at Greenbuild. Our workshops helped attendees stay ahead of the curve by offering training from qualified experts, including USGBC and GBCI staff.
The 2019 Greenbuild Education Program consisted of over 200 sessions, tours, workshops, summits and expo hall educational opportunities throughout the week. Eight of the sessions were included in a USGBC track, which was moderated by USGBC/GBCI staff and cover key topics on USGBC programs.

2019 Summits and Workshops
Elevating equity is the landmark strategy in building resilience within the lives of people, their communities, and infrastructure. USGBC has long been focused on resiliency, defining it as “the ability to prepare and plan for, absorb, recover from, and more successfully adapt to adverse events,” and we know that more sustainable buildings are the cornerstone to enhancing community resilience at scale.
In order to realize a sustainable future for all, the next generation of green building must focus on the development of smart and resilient cities and communities.
The Global Health & Wellness Summit brought together employers, building owners, designers, developers, manufacturers, employees and investors who are unlocking enormous benefits and potential in their buildings by committing to green, healthy buildings.
Every story about a green building is a story about people. And it’s imperative that buildings, communities, and cities will regenerate and sustain the health and vitality of all life within a generation. We believe that above all else, green building is at its heart about people.
Admission to a Workshop was included with the four-day conference pass. Attendees could earn up to 7 hours of continuing education credit. Many workshops also qualified for LEED-specific hours.
All USGBC LEED education programs met eligibility requirements for the LEED Green Associate, and many met credential maintenance requirements for the Green Associate and LEED AP credentials. All workshops at Greenbuild were taught by skilled and experienced practitioners who are also trained facilitators.
GBCI Certification Work Zone
Attendees visited the GBCI Certification Work Zone to meet one-on-one with reviewers and assessors and discuss questions about specific projects or rating system requirements. Reviewers were on hand to discuss the LEED rating system and other programs. Walk-in questions were welcome and encouraged, though advance appointments were available.
