Sustainability

Sustainability is the foundation of Greenbuild. The Greenbuild sustainability program addresses environmental impact through seven objectives:

Learn More About Doing Your Part

There are a few simple things attendees, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors can do to reduce your impact and create a more sustainable conference experience:

  1. Carefully dispose of waste in the proper waste streams.
  2. Be conscious of energy and water use at your hotel and the Greenbuild Mexico host hotel where available.
    1. Draw your blinds while not using your hotel room.
    2. Skip housekeeping services for the length of your stay.
    3. Download the Hilton Honors app to access your room with a digital key.
  3. Reduce single-use containers by bringing a reusable water bottle, coffee mug and bag.
    1. Take advantage of the water stations available on every level of the Greenbuild Mexico host hotel by bringing a reusable water bottle and use a reusable mug/thermos to avoid single-use cups.
  4. Take public transportation, walk or bike to the venue.
  5. Utilize and share digital resources in lieu of printed handouts, including programs, worksheets and collateral.
    1. Share resources digitally in education sessions and within the exhibit hall.

Volunteer

Greenbuild Mexico offers volunteer opportunities to full-time students and emerging professionals. In exchange for five (5) hours of volunteer work at the event, individuals will receive one (1) complimentary Full Conference Pass to attend Greenbuild Mexico. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on volunteer experience and to network with green building leaders and experts.
